A Wounded Fawn

"A Wounded Fawn" is a fun little indie horror from the Tribeca Film Fest 2022. It opens at an auction with potential buyers bidding on a sculpture of some Greek gods. Pay attention to the gods depicted on this statue because they play a factor in the rest of the story. We find out one of our potential buyers is a predator, as we witness at least one murder. When he lures another woman out to his cabin in the woods, fate (or fates perhaps?) takes a different turn. I liked a lot of the production here. It's obviously low budget, but captured on film, it has a beautiful aesthetic. Most people's opinions will hinge on how well the second half works for you. It takes a wild turn from your typical cabin-in-the-woods horror flick. I enjoyed the ride, even if that second half didn't narratively land for me.
