Alice

Sundance 2022

“Alice,” written and directed by Krystin Ver Linden, has a premise similar to the 2020 film “Antebellum.” While “Alice” is better than the aforementioned film, it still falls short of being great. Keke Palmer and Common are excellent in their roles, and I loved the 70’s vibe of the filmmaking once we leave the plantation. Beyond that, the film is pretty shallow, without much to office aside from being a straightforward revenge flick.
