Dawn Breaks Behind the Eyes

“Dawn Breaks Behind the Eyes” was an experience to watch. A couple travels abroad to visit the castle they've inherited to assess the property's condition. They opt to spend the night at the newly acquired estate, but relatively quickly, they both start sensing a paranormal presence. I was expecting a classic ghost story, but around the 30-minute mark, those expectations were thrown for a loop. What followed was more of a psychedelic Euro gothic horror film that plays with genres and tonal shifts in many other surprising ways. It's a beautiful film dripping in a Euro 70's aesthetic. I need to rewatch this to figure out exactly what I just watched. That's not a negative critique in this instance.
