I lived through the transitions from VHS to DVD and ultimately to Blu-ray. But when my kids were very young, and their grubby little fingers were always scratching up all my discs, I decided to switch everything to digital. I still obsessively collect, though, and I particularly love finding those hard-to-find extended cuts, special editions, festival films, etc. But, even though this film was more of an ode to physical media, I felt a massive connection to this story. I may not have 55,000 titles, but now I have a number to shoot for. It's an interesting bit of niche viewing. It's stretched a bit thin even at 90 minutes long, but it's still worth checking out if you're a media collector.
