L’immensità

Penélope Cruz is so mother. She's magnetic and lifts this slice-of-life family drama with every frame she occupies. Rather than a complete narrative film, it's a collection of vignettes with varying focuses. (Her husband cheating with his secretary, her eldest child experiencing gender dysmorphia, and Clara's (Cruz) mental health). Unfortunately, none of these vignettes come full circle or ultimately connect in a way that leaves a lasting impression. I was absolutely captivated by Penélope Cruz for the entire runtime.
