“Navalny” is a documentary/espionage-thriller following Russian opposition leader and former presidential candidate Alexey Navalny’s investigation into his own attempted assassination. Poisoned with a military-grade nerve agent and saved only by fate, the film follows Navalny as he recuperates and tries to discover the identity of the responsible individuals. Navalny has a magnetic charisma that makes the story accessible and easy to connect with. Still, the film also contains revelations and discoveries that make for genuinely thrilling and chilling cinema. I highly recommend checking this one out.
